One-eyed Jack - morning - P: Dude. - Present: Dude, Val, Julian , Doreen.

Finally the final touch on 'Beware my love': the electric guitar part. I couldn't resist adding a little solo overdub near the end. It's kinda short, but I like it very much. It's been improvised "in the moment".

SATURDAY 8th OCTOBER 2005

1st Live performance at the Beatles Day in Mons (Belgium)

Recording: 'Too much rain' (with Calico)
Recording: 'Riding to Vanity Fair'
Waux Hall, Mons, Belgium - afternoon - P: Dude. - Present: Dude, Calico, Coco, Mr mustard, and a whole lot of people....

I wanted to do this for a long time: play at the Beatles Day in Mons, Belgium. I sang four songs, all taken from Paul McCartney's last album "Chaos and creation in the backyard". For 'Too much rain', I sang in duet with Phil Calico. 'Friends to go' I did on the uke, to gave it that George harrison feel Macca talked about, and I did 'Vanity Fair' both on guitar and glockenspiel, while singing at the same time. I just loved that day. full of friendship, good vibes, and the evening show was fantastic.

Thanks a lot to the whole Beatles Day team, to Marco and Clo for the photographs, to Calico, and to all the wonderful Yellow-subians I met that day.

Recording: 'We all stand together'
Recording: 'Once upon a long ago'
Recording: 'All you need is love'
Recording: 'C moon'
Recording: 'Silly love songs'
One-eyed Jack's kitchen - evening - P: Dude. - Present: Dude, Val, Julian , Doreen.

I wanted to do this for a long time. :) Some evenings we had the kids to eat on their own, because of time restrictions. But one of us would always stay with them, so that they weren't eating alone. When it was my turn, I used to take my guitar and sing with them whatever they wanted to sing. I needed to record one of these evenings. I did. It sounds surprisingly well. This Minidisc unit + stereo microphone is a gem. The kids in this are marvellous, as always.

SATURDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER 2005

Recording: 'Cross-eyed Mary'
France 3 basement - 19:30-20:00 - P: Dude.

That night I was going to see Back to the legend in Nancy, and met with Clive and Am'. The show was to start at 21:30 so I took some time to do a 2-song drum session.

Recording: 'Meat city' (SI on take 1)
Recording: 'Beware my love' (SI on take 1)
One-eyed Jack - afternoon - P: Dude.

Doing the vocals for those three songs. The George one was quite easy, I expected the backing vocals to be more tricky. The John one was very pleasant to do. And the Paul one was very hard. I think I did the basics, but I'll probably had one or two more attempts to the process.

Recording the flute. It was very hard to do. Because the flute I played couldn't play low notes, I had to transpose the recording take up to obtain the correct tonality.
